With a forest walk through the Kamilet Valley and an approximately 65-metre drop, Mençuna is one of the standout nature stops around Arhavi. The final section is completed on foot rather than by car.
Getting there and the walk
From near the Ortacalar Twin Bridges, continue towards the Kamilet Valley. After the road section, cross a suspension bridge and climb for roughly 20 minutes to reach the waterfall.
Walking time varies with personal pace and trail conditions. Rainy days call for extra care.
When should you visit?
According to the official tourism source, water levels are highest in April and May. Summer generally brings easier walking conditions, though weekends can be busier.
Pairing the waterfall with the Twin Bridges creates a natural day route, with time for an evening in central Arhavi after returning to the hotel.
Practical notes
Before you set out
- Wear walking shoes with good grip.
- Carry water and a light rain jacket.
- Leave no litter and remain on the safe trail.
